CBR III Review #139: Blood Red Road by Moira Young

CBR III Review #139: Blood Red Road by Moira Young

This novel has been re-dubbed the Dustland Series on the title cover so that can only mean one thing...that several more novels are in the works.

Saba has grown up in wasteland known as Silverlake with her father, twin brother, and litter sister.  It's not an easy life but she is content with her family and has as close relationship with her twin, Lugh.  One day during a massive sandstorm four men ride into town and capture Lugh and kill her father.  Saba strikes out on a journey of epic proportions to save her brother. Saba crosses the desert's wasteland with her annoying little sister and learns a great deal about herself in the process.

Blood Red Road is a great epic tail with lots of stops along the way.  I had some trouble following the dialect but I think it's because I plow through books so quickly.  I didn't love it as much as everyone seems to, but I enjoyed it.  Considering the dry spell I have been having with finding a good book I'll take it.
